We were playing hockey in a tournament over in Havelock and Stan was the driver for the trip for he and I. Following the final game I suggested an alternative way home that we could enjoy by taking our time and have some "ginger ales" on route. We poked along the back roads not encountering any traffic and just sharing stories and listening to some tunes. It was the "long way home" but he would often say that that trip home was one of his favorite times-- for sure it was one of mine. Great fun, great stories and a few gingers--can't do that now--
