The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Douglas Luery can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Condolence From: Terry Kowalski
Condolence: Dear Joan and family,

I worked for IAC in Kitchener in the late 60s and Doug was the Niagara manager so we worked closely every day.
I found Doug to be a man of principal who was very good at his job, very friendly and liked a joke. In those days we all worked hard and played hard and Doug was no exception. I am sorry to hear he is gone . Peace to you all . Terry

Condolence From: Bob and Marg Hoops
Condolence: Dear Joan and family:

Marg and I were saddened to read of Doug's passing. We always enjoyed chats during walks at the Waterloo Recreation Centre and later, your visits with us when we moved to Toronto. One particular memory is of the two of you knocking on our door shortly after we arrived in Albufeira, Portugal, in 2004. After a long flight from Toronto and a harrowing drive from Faro to the Alfagar Apartments, you and Doug were a welcome sight. Later get togethers at your rental and for "ham toasties" at local restaurants, are all thoughts we cherish. We hope that memories of a long life together will comfort you and your family in the months and years ahead.

Sincerely,

Bob and Marg Hoops
