CAREW, John Charles – Passed away peacefully at the Ross Memorial Hospital, Lindsay on Friday, January 6, 2017 with his family by his side. John, in his 82nd year, was the beloved husband and best friend of Sheila (née Williamson), for 52 years. Loving son of the late Arthur and Amelia Carew, and predeceased by his sisters Claire Carew, Anne Boothe, and Judy McDermaid. John is survived by his brother-in-law Ian McDermaid, and sister-in-law Valerie (Richard) Moore. He will be lovingly remembered by his Goddaughter MaryClaire Brooks, his nieces, nephews and their families. A Memorial Service will be held at Cambridge Street United Church, 61 Cambridge Street North, Lindsay on Monday, January 16, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. Reception to follow. Please remember John for his wonderful sense of humour. In lieu of flowers, a donation to a charity of your choice, would be appreciated by the family.
