William John  Tripp
TRIPP, William John (Jack) – With sad hearts the family of William John (Jack) Tripp, of Oakwood, announce his passing on March 3, 2016. He was born near Asquith Saskatchewan on March 27, 1915. Jack was the beloved husband of the late Laura Tripp (Millions) and devoted father of Marilyn and husband Lorne Disney of Woodville and Doug and wife Anne Tripp of Fenelon Falls. He was the proud Grandpa of Deanna (Nicholas Hood), Kevin Disney (Julie Leduc), Janice (Trevor Beaudoin) and Jeff Tripp (Dana). Jack was the loving great-grandfather (GGPa) of Michael Hood, Steven Hood (Laura), Brooklyne Beaudoin, Justyce Beaudoin, Sydney Beaudoin, Jadon Tripp and Jack Tripp. He is survived by his brother Robert (Freda) and sisters Martha Bremner, Bess Higgins and Hazel Armstrong and is remembered by many nieces and nephews. Jack was predeceased by his parents Jack and Francis (Armitage), sister Beatrice (Gerry and George) and brothers Stephen (Glady), Melvin (Joyce) and Clifford (Jean) and brothers-in-law George Higgins, Jack Bremner and Howard Armstrong. He was also predeceased by infant great-granddaughter Drea Beaudoin.

Jack was a WWII Veteran, a member and Past Master of the Masonic Composite Lodge #30 in Whitby and a life member of The Grand Lodge of Perfection in Toronto. His career involved many facets-timbering, mining, carpentry, and building to name a few. He retired from his position as Chief Building Inspector from the town of Whitby in Durham Region and moved to Oakwood with his wife a few years later. He was an ardent fisherman, cribbage player and gardener.

Cremation has taken place and an interment service will be held in the spring. If desired, donations to the Ontario Kidney Foundation, the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Ross Memorial Hospital would be appreciated by Jack’s family. His Family wishes to thank Dr. Loeb for his wonderful care, Dr. Hanson (nephrologist), CECCAC, Community Care Hospice Palliative Care team, Kathryn Younker (RNEC), Castle Keep, ParaMed nurses and PSW’s for all their support in keeping Jack at home.
